Filtration with CFF Diacel® Cellulose Filtration Fibres
Diacel® cellulose filtration fibres are natural, plant-derived fibres used as a solid-liquid filtration aid. The raw materials are inert, regenerative and biodegradable. Spent filter cake from food applications can often be repurposed as animal feed or fertiliser, offering an alternative to landfill disposal. In addition, the use of cellulose filtration fibres helps protect filtration systems from abrasion.

Diacel® Food fibres are manufactured in accordance with the specifications of DIN EN ISO 22.000:2005, FCC IV and GMP.
Common areas of application include precoat filtration of:
- Sugar
- Beer
- Wine
- Fruit juice
- Edible oil
- Brine
Diacel® advantages
Lower wet cake density compared to diatomaceous earth. Reduced filter aid consumption leads to reduced amounts of waste. Reduced residual moisture in wet cake leads to decreased liquid loss. DIACEL® provides a higher flow rate of the filter over a longer time. Excellent dirt retention capacity of DIACEL® filter aids due to fine fibrous structure.
The flexible fibre matrix of DIACEL® protects the cake against cracking due to pressure surge. Better protection of the filter equipment due to soft and non-abrasive organic fibre material. Reduced wear and tear of the filter and pumps. The organic raw material allows possible usage of spent filter cakes for animal feeding, composting or biogas production. DIACEL® can help to extend the maintenance cycle of your filter by covering small defects in the filter cloth.
